A few weeks ago I went into Goodwill and found a heavy brass lamp with a cool shape and a drum shade that fit it. This isn't my usual Goodwill luck. I'm sort of a loser when it comes to finding things in there. But that was my lucky day. My bill for both was less than $20.
I found some new blue/lime/white brush trim at Joann's for the shade and added a strip of hot pink gemp that I already had.
I picked up some fantastic (highly recommend this stuff) Painter's Touch gloss spray paint in Key Lime from Home Depot and went to work on Saturday. I took the lamp inside to dry between my first and second go-rounds with the paint. Too many little gnats with a death wish were circling around for me to be comfortable leaving it in the yard.
After it was dry we settled it on Scott's new/old night table in our bedroom-in-progress (more pictures coming soon!) and called it cute and done.

What a nifty project! It came out looking pretty darn fab.
(And that shade looks very pristine for a Goodwill find. Sweet score!)

It looks fantastic!! Do you need primer with that paint? I painted a floor lamp years ago and it looked great, but then the paint flaked off.
