Another Mini-Makeover

 

This past Saturday Scott's Mom and sister found this fantastic changing table/dresser at a rummage sale for $100. It's incredibly sturdy and well-built and I think from some online looking that it's about a $500-$600 piece of furniture. Score!

Aside from the normal little clean-ups like removing scuffs and adding new drawer liner, I decided it also needed a little bouncy color.

Rather than re-paint a piece whose creamy color I already really liked (and possibly mess up the whole thing in the process), I decided filling in the moon and stars was an easy enough way to make it smile.

A few coats later and here it is...

A Sorta Before & After

   

So I've been dying to do some Before & After posts, but the afters aren't coming as fast as I'd like. So I thought I'd show you today's project before it's in its final home in our new room. I've been thinking about coveringthe doors on this cabinet with paper for a few months, but it wasn't until we decided it was moving to our room that I seriously got to thinking about it and how to do it. Today I just got out Mod Podge and a brush and threw caution to the wind and went for it.

I may edge the doors in some trim...we'll see.

I'd love some clear glass/acrylic knobs in bright turquoise to dress it up even more. Anyone know where I could get some cool ones? I'm cheap, so they have to be no more than maybe $4-5 each.

Under Construction

We're so close to being done in so many places! Scott's putting down hardwood flooring today in our room and in the hall. Our new laundry area is coming along, and the re-done hallway is almost complete. I just don't feel good showing you the whole before & after stories til I have some really good after photos - so give us a little bit longer.

I love the little bunny up above. He seems to be trotting down the road with only good expectations of a glad time to be had on Easter day. And if you have spring flowers and a colored egg in your backpack and a smile on your face, well then you’ve pretty much got the whole world.
