This is my second year taking part in a silent auction for our local Festival of Trees. I donate home staging/room makeover services and set up a little vignette to give an idea of what the top bidder will receive. This year I didn't know where I would be, how much space I had, or even if I would have a wall behind me...loads of unknowns. I decided to take some bigger pieces, focus on green, black, and some rosy reddish pinks, and pack statement accessories that would be really eye-catching. I took as many items from around the house as we could cram in the back of the Durango and made a run to the store for a big bag of fresh pomegranates.
I could have done without the huge candy canes painted on the wall behind my area, but otherwise it turned out great and was a nice size. The room setting came together in nothing flat and we even had time to put some linen on the seat of the little curlique-leg stool at the far right so it could hold some magazines.
